LAPD Senior Lead Officer Jose Ramirez reports that over the last four weeks reporting
districts 1171, 1172, 1144, and 1145 have recorded 25 burglaries from motor vehicles,
spreading concerns in the community. The Los Angeles Police Department is working
closely with community police advisory boards to alert residents to NOT attract thieves by
leaving their valuables visible inside vehicles.
Citizens are also encouraged to contact 9-1-1 or LA Crime Stoppers to submit any tips or suspicious activity. It’s important all incidents are reported so LAPD can track patterns and occurrences.
In total, there have been 73 crimes reported from April 2 to April 29, 2023:

2 robbery
3 aggravated assault crimes
0 gang related
0 shots fired
0 victims shot
9 burglary
10 theft
10 grand theft auto
25 burglary/theft from motor vehicles
2 recovered vehicles
1 violent crimes

Additional updates:
• The Los Angeles Police Department and Shake Shack are partnering to encourage
Silver Lake Elementary kids to attend school. The class with the best attendance will
receive ice cream treats each month.
• On May 10, 2023, Northeast officers and the central traffic division will conduct enhanced
traffic enforcement in locations where local residents have complained about drivers
running through stop signs, speeding and disobeying posted signs.
• As summer nears, LAPD reminds all local residents living near the Silver Lake
Reservoirs Meadow to report any suspicious activity and parties goers setting up rave
parties.
• On May 13, May 27, and June 3, between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., LAPD is holding a
car wash fundraiser at LA Express Car Wash, located at 2580 Glendale Blvd, Los Angeles
CA 90039. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go directly to LAPD Northeast youth
programs.
