The Los Angeles Public Library is honoring L.A. wildlife celebrity P-22 with limited-edition
cards featuring the famous image of the mountain lion in front of the Hollywood sign,
captured by National Geographic photographer Steve Winter. P-22 was euthanized last
December, a few days after he was struck by a car in Silver Lake and took refuge in a
resident’s backyard. The Silver Lake branch library reports that the P-22 cards are
available to current and new cardholders, but recommends people call before stopping by
a branch as supplies are limited.
